Two letters. Find the words between.
A start letter and an end letter, fixed — any real word that fits between them counts. There is no hidden answer to guess, so two people can finish the same board without a single word in common. Play alone, or with up to eight people at once — no account, and nothing to buy.
One hook, a lot of ways to play it
Every mode works the same way — two letters at the ends, and the words that fit between them. What changes is the letters, the clock, the stakes, and who you are up against.
Five keypairs a day
The same five for everyone, every day. Clear the board, keep your streak, and see your score against everyone who played today.
A campaign that doesn’t run out
Adventure runs worlds of ten levels, each with a look of its own and a CPU boss at the tenth. Beat a target, hold out, or get through a run without missing once.
Five ways to play with people
Pass one phone. Open an online room for eight. Send a code, a link or a QR and take turns whenever you each get a minute. Or get matched with the next player in the queue. None of it needs an account.
No wifi. No signal. Still a party.
Sit together with nothing but phones and play the same live race over Bluetooth, up to eight of you. One phone hosts; everyone nearby joins. Friends can also take a seat from a browser.
Three fixed tours, no clock
The Alphabet is thirteen keypairs covering all twenty-six letters exactly once. Seams is twenty same-letter keypairs, S···S up to the F···F that ends it. High Pair is twenty the dealer never deals.
Endless
One clock, a fresh pair after every word, and every letter you find buys time back. In a room it becomes a knockout: your clears drain everyone else’s clock, and the last one running wins.
Hint keycaps
Stuck? Hold the space bar to spend a keycap and reveal that letter wherever it sits. Everyone is handed the same letters each day.
Boards worth climbing
Three ways to be scored — Letter Score, Longest Word and First Word. Every board can narrow from the whole world down to the rivals you actually play.
One hundred keyboards
Six are yours from the start and ninety-four are earned by playing — ninety-one of the hundred drawn from Sanzo Wada’s A Dictionary of Color Combinations (1933). None of them can be bought.

Questions
What is KEYCAPS?
KEYCAPS is a daily word game. Each keypair gives you two fixed letters, a start and an end, and any real word that fits between them counts. For S···M, STEAM, SLAM and SERUM all score.
Is KEYCAPS like Wordle?
It shares the daily habit: the same board for everyone, once a day. Wordle has one hidden answer to guess, and KEYCAPS has none. Every real word that fits counts, so two people can clear the same board without a single word in common.
Can I play KEYCAPS without wifi?
Yes. Every solo mode works offline, and up to eight people can play the same live race over Bluetooth with no signal at all.
Can I play KEYCAPS with friends?
Yes. Pass one phone, open an online room for up to eight, send a code, a link or a QR and take turns, or get matched with the next player in the queue.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no account, no sign-up and no email address. The leaderboards show your initials, or your Game Center or Play Games name if you pick it.
Is KEYCAPS free?
Yes. Free is the whole game: every mode, every board and every keyboard. An ad never appears on a gameboard, and every keyboard is earned by playing, never bought.
Can I play KEYCAPS in a browser?
Yes. Today’s Daily is at keyca.ps, along with the world leaderboard and a seat in a friend’s room.
